I like cartoony better. With a few strokes you convey an image that people can see and understand. They look at it and say "Hey! That's a hand!" instead of drawing thousands of lines and shading every little contour and blending and smudging until its all one piece, which, as good as it looks, is time consuming. It's not hard, just time consuming.
Tedious really...
